this week in science class we learned all about the moon, and how it has different phases. in order the phases are new moon,waxing crecent,1st quarter,waxing gibbous,full moon,waning gibbous, third quarter,waning crescent. The moon has different phases because it revolves around the sun.
we learned about this by drawing models of the earth and moon and sun, we lined them up and made them revolve. We also had a person rotate and revolve around a table.
In real life we need to know this because people that live down the shore need to know how the moons force works, with tides and currents. that is how many people drown.
